Small Dog's Walk January 7, 2025

The Wife was leaving for a Book Club meeting, leaving the Old Man and Small Dog at the house. Small Dog idolizes The Wife, and was very distressed to see her leave. The Old Man knows from experience that the best way to calm Small Dog down is to take her for a walk. Even in January, the temperatures in South Alabama can get quite warm (relatively speaking), so the Old Man only wore a light jacket over his shirt. The sun was shining brightly after yesterday's rain. Both Small Dog and Old Man could feel their spirits lifting as they moved through the warming air on the walk of a little less than a mile. When they got back home, both of them felt better about the situation. Small Dog curled up in her bed, laying in a position where she could see The Wife as soon as she pulled into the driveway. The Old Man sat down to blog.
